Ted Weber Speakers are built with tighter, more concentric voice coil gaps, and lower carbon, machined steel parts in the magnet circuits which yield a stronger, more controlled tone at all volumes, particularly in the low end at high volumes.

    I have one of these in a TRM pine 410 cabinet that I’m currently driving with a tiny, post-war Thordarson PA head. The cab is loaded with the following mix of Weber speakers: On the top, a DT10 and 10A125-O (light dope, H dustcap); on the bottom a 10A150 and this 10A150-O (light dope, H dustcap). I spent months mixing and matching speakers before I came up with this combo. The 10A125-O brings the deliciously thick tone harp players love. The DT10 has an amazingly clear tone throughout its very wide range. The 10A150 with the ribbed cone punches like a heavyweight boxer. And the 10A150-O contributes a huge, warm basso profundo to the quartet that fills the room. These are expensive speakers, and it took me years to afford the quartet. But the proof is in the tone, and this rig just oozes tone, with volume to spare from only 8 watts of single-ended tube power.
