Thank you for your interest in Weber Amplifier Kits. We would like for you to read the following information so you are aware of some of the issues involved with building an amp kit.

• We provide a layout and a schematic, but we do not include step by step assembly instructions.
• Troubleshooting advice can be found in the Kitbuilding section of the Forums
• Kits with cabinets ship as one complete shipment.
• Lead time for kits is at least 4 weeks and ebbs and flows with the world’s production/supply.
• All kits are shipped with signature required for delivery.

Please Read: The complexity of Weber kits ranges from very simple to extremely complex. We do not recommend anyone attempting to build any of our kits that are rated at 3 or higher in complexity unless you have the assistance of a qualified amp builder or electronics technician. Because of the sensitivities to wire placement, grounding schemes, and other parts related issues, troubleshooting the potential malfunctions and noises can be very frustrating without the experience and knowledge. All Weber amplifier kits have lethal voltages that are present even after power is removed. You must exercise extreme caution when working with high voltages. Before ordering any of these kits, you should look over the schematics and layouts provided for each kit to ensure there is enough information for you to feel comfortable building the kit. Short version: this kit, and this amp, have wildly exceeded my expectations. If you’re thinking of build a kit amp, you can’t go wrong with a Ted Weber kit.

    Long version:

I recently bought and completed one of these kits and it is an amazing amp! This was my first amp build, and I am completely knocked out with how thorough the kit was, how well thought out it was, the quality of the kit’s components, the quality of the cabinet and its finish. I ordered mine with the Weber 15" speaker, and between the speaker, and the design of the circuit, the sound of the amp also is a complete knockout! It plays highs and lows equally well, never sounds muddy. And it gets LOUD, and still sounds fantastic.

I highly recommend this kit to anyone who is looking for a fully featured single-channel amp. The only caution I would offer is that this is a complex kit. If you aren’t that familiar with electronics and soldering, you will definitely want to try something more simple for your first build. But if you have any experience with tubes, radio and/or TV repair, and general soldering skills? Go for it!

I’m looking to build another one. Building it, for me, was at least half the fun!

One last item: the tech support from Weber was equally as great as the kit! They always answered my questions quickly and thoroughly.

I built this kit, almost completely stock, and am very pleased with its tone and performance.

The build was straightforward, with the schematic and layout diagram provided.
All the parts supplied were serviceable. The completed amp is quite quiet from a noise perspective, with no extraordinary efforts required. I must commend TA Weber, who was kind enough to comp me a wafer for the capacitor can (a clamp was supplied with the kit) and an audio taper pot for the reverb level control as well as replacing a ¼” plug that arrived with a manufacturing defect, for his commitment to customer support. With the exception of a back ordered power transformer, the kit arrived complete with no missing pieces. The kit arrived very well packed, with no damage. As an aside, I had to drill additional holes in the chassis to mount the bias board and output transformer, as well as scrounge some miscellaneous hardware to mount the fiberboards to my liking. It would be nice if star washers were supplied with the pots and jacks, however they were not.

The cabinet construction is very solid, and the stainless chassis is absolutely beautiful.

With the 12F150 speaker I order with the kit, the amp has enough volume to gig with a 20 piece big band. When I scoped the output into an 8 ohm resistive load, the amp made about 22 Watts with negligible harmonic distortion.

I would absolutely build this kit again for someone else, and would definitely consider building another Weber kit for my own use.
