For replacement of Chicago Jensen P8R, C8R, and other 8″ applications.

8″, 7oz AlNiCo plug magnet, 15 watt, 1″ voice coil, straight cone.

Warm, crunchy, early breakup, compressed/fattened at high volume. Will not fit in tweed, or early BF Champs, (but WILL fit in Weber and Mojo 5F1 cabs) – The narrow basket will fit into 70’s SF Champs, and might fit in other tight-fitting combo amps – some amps can be tricky.

Ted Weber Speakers are built with tighter, more concentric voice coil gaps, and lower carbon, machined steel parts in the magnet circuits which yield a stronger, more controlled tone at all volumes, particularly in the low end at high volumes.

Ted Weber Speakers are hand-built to order, to ensure the best attention to detail is paid to your speaker.  We build them one at a time, on a table – not hundreds at a time on an assembly line.  This allows us to reduce the margin for error and produce an overall higher-quality speaker.  Please allow 7-10 business days for your order to be built and then shipped.

2 reviews for 8A100

First off – if clean headroom is your thing, then do not buy this speaker.

On the other hand – If a dirty, vintage rock-n-roll sound is what you’re after, then this is your speaker. I put this thing in a tweed Princeton 5f2a kit from Mojotone and was completely blown away by the sound. Dark, warm, gritty… It was exactly what I was looking for.

I bought the 8A100 (3.2 ohm) for my recent ’68 Champ purchase. I had had a ’65 Vibro Champ with an older Weber Sig 8 years ago I had foolishly sold. The new Champ had a ceramic generic speaker in it when I got it that was loud, but very harsh. The 8A100 has now been in the Champ for about 3 weeks and I could not be happier. I was a bit hesitant to buy this speaker as I couldn’t find any reviews on it besides the other one on here. I’ve played guitar for 35 years and this speaker/amp combo is giving me the best tone I’ve EVER heard. It’s fairly clean till about halfway on the dial with a LP, then has the most killer overdrive beyond that. At 10 it’s a roaring beast. Amazing speaker!
