Ted Weber Speakers are built with tighter, more concentric voice coil gaps, and lower carbon, machined steel parts in the magnet circuits which yield a stronger, more controlled tone at all volumes, particularly in the low end at high volumes.

Ted Weber Speakers are hand-built to order, to ensure the best attention to detail is paid to your speaker.  We build them one at a time, on a table – not hundreds at a time on an assembly line.  This allows us to reduce the margin for error and produce an overall higher-quality speaker.  Please allow 7-10 business days for your order to be built and then shipped.

I purchased a pair of these speakers (20 watts, no dope) about ten years ago for a GDS Marshall 18 watt clone I built. These are absolutely the best speakers available anywhere for the EL84-based amplifiers. They very accurately reproduce the bright, rich harmonic tones produced in those amps. When you really drive these speakers, they produce a nice brown-sounding bark with your power chords- never harsh or rude. They break up smoothly with your rhythm playing, never losing a single detail. And these things are LOUD. A pair of these in a 15-20 watt tube amp will be more than enough to keep up with any drummer, even for lead work. I could not be happier with these speakers.

Several years ago I decided to resurrect my Blackface Bassman head and bought a 2 x 10 speaker cab for portability to gigs. I had tried several "American" voiced speakers that I really could not use at stage volume. They just seemed too piercing for me and I did not like the way they broke up.

Blue Pups (although patterned after British speakers) will not make a AB165 Bassman sound like a Vox, but it will certainly make it much sweeter IMHO. They handle cleans beautifully, they are responsive, sound great over-driven and never piercing. I recently built a Weber 5E7 Bandmaster clone and after trying to use the speakers in the kit (P10Q clones), I decided to recone them myself with all the parts for the Blue Pups….and I love them. I play Roots Rock, Hard Rock, Chicken Pickin’ and Surf. They handle all these genres fantastically. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for not just British styled amps, but American amps too.

Paired a Blue Pup and Silver Ten in my Orange Rocker 32. What a difference they made compared to the Orange branded stock 10s. The clean channel is much warmer and more defined, and breaks up beautifully when pushed!
The Dirty channel is now much tighter and smooth. Great bass response for a 2×10 combo! Nice mids and top end chime without being harsh!
    Weber customer for life!

I bought this 10″ Blue Pup for a VibroChamp clone on the advice of several online forums. Wow, I couldn’t believe how much better my guitar playing sounds. I built a pine cabinet for it and can plug in whichever head that I want to use. I have several other amps, single ended and push pull, and it is great with all my amps including a clone of a Vox AC4. So bottom line, it sounds great with either American or British amp heads.
