G12H-30 Tone. 12″, 50oz ceramic magnet, 1-3/4″ voice coil. British Kurt-Mueller ribbed 55hz cloth surround cone.

Similar to the original vintage G12H-30, it is aggressive, gritty, with lots of midrange punch and a deeper low end than the reissue G12H-30. More headroom and less compressed than the AlNiCo 1230-55. Since this cone has a cloth surround, it requires a minimum amount of dope to seal the cloth. You may select additional doping depending on the power you intend to use and your playing style.

• What’s Dope?

Ted Weber Speakers are built with tighter, more concentric voice coil gaps, and lower carbon, machined steel parts in the magnet circuits which yield a stronger, more controlled tone at all volumes, particularly in the low end at high volumes.

Ted Weber Speakers are hand-built to order, to ensure the best attention to detail is paid to your speaker.  We build them one at a time, on a table – not hundreds at a time on an assembly line.  This allows us to reduce the margin for error and produce an overall higher-quality speaker.  Please allow 7-10 business days for your order to be built and then shipped.

    Speakers Ordered: (2x) Ceramic 1230-55; 30 Watt; 8 OHM; Pre-Rola Dope

    Cabinet: Mojave 2×12

Review: Straight out of the box these speakers have an inspiring feel. The Weber 1230-55 speakers fill in that indescribable sound the human ear wants to hear. Cleans and pushed-power-tube magic both feel and sound natural while the speakers give out tremendous percussive power. I have been playing (and abusing) these speakers for a month or so, and they have not left me disappointed. The Mojave Scorpion (EL34’s) thrives running through these 1230-55’s. A Dr Z EZG-50 (6l6’s) blooms through these speakers. The speakers in the 2×12 give plenty of tight bottom, pleasing mids, and a good blend of highs that allow you to clearly emphasize your picking or phrase dynamics. These are not my first Weber speakers, and I still don’t understand the common misconception that Weber’s need to be broken in over a long period of time. The 1230-55’s sound incredible straight out of the box, especially with the Pre-Rola dope treatment. Additionally, I think the 1230-55 speaker description is right on. Outstanding quality, dedicated people, and American made! Thank you.

We are a custom amp builder in Orlando, Florida. We developed a new line of 5w amps and set out on a search for the perfect speaker. We wanted British vintage tones, think Hendrix, and early EVH. This speaker delivered…..and then some. Pre rola doping 55hz and it is magical. It’s like a time machine. My only regret…i didnt try it first. Our 5w tube amp sounds like a 50w time machine in the living room, no joke. It will completely amaze you. This speaker delivers all of the original Hendrix mojo with a neck pup, and cranked through a high output bridge humbucker……you can hear the glory days of Van Halen through brown tube overdrive. If you arent using this speaker….you are wrong!

Just played my first show with a pair of these 1230-55s, loaded into a 2×12 cab and man o man are these killer! Very smooth response with perfect bass in my open back cab.

I play with a Digitech RP1000 preamp because of the huge variety of music we play; country, rock and metal. The 1230s sounded great no matter what style amp I threw at them. Plexi, Deluxe Reverb, Bassman etc. Humbuckers and single coils both sound great. Excellent clean tones for a ceramic speaker too.

The high end is pleasant and not harsh at all. Even at loud levels. The club we played tonight easily held 200 people and I had no problem being heard and cutting through the mix. Very balanced tonally overall. I am really impressed with the feel and dynamics. I think I’ve found my new #1 speaker. Bye Bye VIntage 30s. These have better bass and sweeter top end, but they still cut through. Plus being able to get these at 100 watts means they should last a long time on the road.

Big thumbs up to Weber for making these bad boys.

I use a 1965 Fender Deluxe Amp. Non-Reverb. It’s been redone as to caps and I had the bias upped some. Beautiful amp.
The original speaker was old loose and just not good. Someone recommended an Eminence Cannabus Rex. Nice speaker but not the one for this amp.
After some research I chose the Ceramic 1230-55; 50 Watt; 8 OHM; Pre-Rola Dope. I went with 50watts even though the amp is 22watts it’s a loud little guy and add my Xotic EP booster and BB preamp and it’s even louder.
Oh boy!!! What a great match and beautiful sounding speaker. I play clean a lot and the chime of the amp is the dream sound you look for. My theory has always been, get the perfect clean sound and you can tailor anything after that.
I can’t be happier I chose this one. A big thanks to Weber

I ordered a 1230-55 (8ohm, 100w, light dope) and couldn’t be happier! It’s not even broke IN yet and it sounds perfect in my 50w plexi build! It has that Ipswitch aggression, but not the fizz of my old Anniversary G12H30, and reissue V30s. I love that they built this for me – a custom speaker from Indiana for a VERY good price! I will be ordering more! Go Weber!
