Think of this as a high-powered 12F150 with a warmer top end. Great blackface tone for Twin Reverbs, etc, where more clean headroom is desired, but still with the ability to sound warm with overdrive/distortion. It is a little darker and stiffer than most speakers when brand new, and requires more break-in time, so it can’t really be judged right out of the box. But once it breaks in, this is a beefy sounding speaker.

12″, 60oz Ceramic magnet, 80 watt, 2″ voice coil, ribbed cone. Loud, warm, crunch and punch, later breakup, more headroom than the AlNiCo version.

It is also great for Fender Rhodes amps where you need 32 ohm speakers

Ted Weber Speakers are built with tighter, more concentric voice coil gaps, and lower carbon, machined steel parts in the magnet circuits which yield a stronger, more controlled tone at all volumes, particularly in the low end at high volumes.

Ted Weber Speakers are hand-built to order, to ensure the best attention to detail is paid to your speaker.  We build them one at a time, on a table – not hundreds at a time on an assembly line.  This allows us to reduce the margin for error and produce an overall higher-quality speaker.  Please allow 7-10 business days for your order to be built and then shipped.

I ordered a pair of these several years ago (2012) as CJ recommended them to warm up the dull and lifeless Roland JC-120. They made the best solid state amp even better. I prefer low wattage valve (tube) amps these days but these will definitely breath life into a JC-120 or other high powered solid state amp if that’s what you’re looking for. Lots of headroom and warmth for days.

I am a speaker expert just by owning so many over the years, I owned a pair of Altec Lansing voice of the theater just because. I own JBL 4311 studio monitors – home version, I have owned Bose 901, and still own AR10s and EPI 100 and 180 and others. so Credibility is there. I own over 30 pairs of speakers. I got a 4 speaker guitar cab from a guy moving. In the cabinet were 4 WEBER Chicago 12f. 2" VC, 5lb magent and ribbed cone. You can just tell the quality of the speaker before you turn it on. Now the review, I do not own a guitar, but mounted one of these in a 1 cubic ft tuned 3" port for a sub woofer, Guitar cabs are not sealed and not tuned, and not ported. I drove these speakers with a 100 watt amp no crossover, and they were surprisingly very bright. Crosby Stills and Nash sounded remarkably clean and distinct and the speaker not only reproduced the guitar like if it was in my living room, every twang. the voice out of them were precise and clarity was superb. This led me to Aerosmith crank it up, to Van Halen shredding, and to summarize a guitar speaker as nothing but amazing. IF you own a fender guitar whether you are in a heavy metal band or down home like CSN this speaker will reproduce the sound precisely and exactly how you thought it would. Only difference would be the warmer sound of tube amps and all the pedals, Fuzz and Wow Wow. Best 12" guitar speaker for the money, whether you are either building your own cab or replacing one of the speakers in existing. Word of advice on replacement if it is 4 speaker cabinet OK but if it is 2 speaker cab this speaker did not give sensitivity rating but I would say very efficient like 94db. while your other speaker might only be 84 causing a distinct mismatch for $115 just replace both and put the other in the garage. Overall Quality of Weber speakers vs mass produced China there is a difference you can hear

Thought you’d like to know. The speakers are broken in and the sound from my brand new Fender Tone Master Twin Reverb is phenomenal. And the more I play, the better they get. The 12s carry so much low end that the pictures on the wall vibrate under middle volume while the highs are crystal clear. Great job. And a shout out to Fender for a really nice digital amp.
