15″, 40oz boosted AlNiCo magnet, 60 watt, 2″ voice coil, ribbed cone. Loud, warm, crunchy, later breakup, compressed/fattened at higher volumes.

Ted Weber Speakers are built with tighter, more concentric voice coil gaps, and lower carbon, machined steel parts in the magnet circuits which yield a stronger, more controlled tone at all volumes, particularly in the low end at high volumes.

Ted Weber Speakers are hand-built to order, to ensure the best attention to detail is paid to your speaker.  We build them one at a time, on a table – not hundreds at a time on an assembly line.  This allows us to reduce the margin for error and produce an overall higher-quality speaker.  Please allow 7-10 business days for your order to be built and then shipped.

I got this to replace the 15″ Blue Marvel in my Peavey Delta Blues. The tone is fantastic, well balanced across the neck. Even the drive channel which I avoided like the plague before sounds great.

The service from Weber was great. It a very well built piece of equipment.

I was running a 2ohm 15a150 with my ’69 super reverb head and wanted to try something different. The 15a150 was great for bright soulful cleans and vintage tones, but I didn’t like it for fuzzed out leads as it was pretty harsh. I tried some British-voiced combinations, the alnico gold and green back 10’s, the Tone Tubby red 12’s. I liked them, but mainly only for OD tones as they were too dark otherwise. The Chicago is a great middle ground – the cone style is what I’m after for soaking up fuzz, not too dark/harsh, and plenty loud (and it’s nice to just have the 1×15 cab). I think I can move along a solid chunk of my speaker library!
