Weber Speakers is proud to offer Ted Weber’s Legacy Series 12 inch speakers. These speakers were some of the last designs Ted worked on, and we have perfected his vision (by not doing anything besides producing the speakers). The ‘Legacy’ line is similar to a group of speakers that we previously built as a ‘turn-key’ product for a retailer. We have decided to honor Ted’s legacy and exclusively sell these speakers via our website.
Ted designed these speakers to reproduce the classic ‘Marshall’ british tone, as faithful to the original sound as he could.
30, 40, 50, or 80 oz magnet, 1.75 inch voice coil, 30, 65, or 100 watt. 75Hz or 55Hz cones. Available with standard British dustcap or Large H Screen Dome. Magnet size: smaller = less efficient, more breakup. larger = more efficient, louder, cleaner (generally).
Power level: always get more power handling than your amp puts out. Amps can generate more power than their ‘ratings’ indicate. No speaker is indestructible, so bear that in mind before cranking your Marshall amp and wondering why your speakers are blown.
Cone type: 75Hz cone has solid bass, even mids, and good clarity. Your standard “Vintage Marshall” cone. 55Hz cone has deeper bass, a darker voice, and smoother highs. These are great for deep bass notes and creamy tones.
Dustcap type: Standard British = even, clear, good for clean and distorted.
Large H Screen Dome = smoother highs, takes the edge off high frenquency distortion. (Great for high gain amps that have too much treble in the distortion)
Doping: Pre-Rola treatment standard.

I ordered the 55hz cone with the large H dustcap and all I can say is wow! Just threw this speaker into my 15 watt tube amp and its a character of its own. Definition and the low end is all there and really has sprung this amp into league of its own. Aside from a amazing speaker the weber company threw in a couple random extras. To me this speaks to the customers how much they appreciate your business. I highly recommend this speaker for anyone trying to capture the "sound" this speaker replicates.

The new Legacy 12 you guys just built me is in my Samamp Verb 23 combo and it sounds and feels so good. The word sexy comes to mind. I want to make sure to use the words "breadth" and "depth" in any description I would write about this speaker. Few companies can boast of a product that can do it all and is the best at it all. Beautiful cleans, touch sensitive flexible tones, heavenly overdrive, and singing sustain. It also handles all levels of amp and pedal overdrive and distortion so sweetly and with clarity.
Thank you!!

I bought a 55hz 12" Legacy to match my ’67 Fender Bassman and it is a match made in heaven. I have used it nearly every single night in the past six months, for guitar playing and listening to music.
I tried a small handful of speakers over the past few years and this is hands down my favorite. This speaker just sings.
This speaker has excellent bass, very smooth highs, and a very warm, balanced sound. No frequencies that seem to stick out or bad settings on the tone controls, as I have found in some other speakers. With the 12" Legacy I enjoy trying out different settings and getting new tones.
3D, rich, detailed, everything you want out of a good speaker.
I don’t buy a ton of gear, I aim for purchases that will last me a lifetime and I highly recommend you check out the Weber Legacy speakers if you’re the same.

These are terrific. I have a single 30oz/30 watt in my 5e3 and it sounds amazing. Very clear and articulate. Obviously a strong midrange, but the treble and bass response is not lacking, at least for me. I was concerned the 5e3’s lowend would overwhelm the Legacy, but it doesn’t. If anything, the Legacy seems to shelve a bit of the bass off.
I also have a pair of 30oz/65watt Legacies in a home made 5e8a low power twin. As the speakers break in they just sound better and better. Really helps project the 5e8’s big, muscular tone.
I would absolutely order these again. Highly recommended.

Just fantastic speakers! They have a great tone and can handle the massive signal and output of a baritone guitar driving a ‘Marshall Major’ type KT88 amplifier.
I use them in a custom, extra large 4×12 and they have a clarity and articulation which others can’t match, with great mids, clear top end and bass punch.
Weber allows you customize, which is so important – 55hz cones, 100w, 80oz magnets etc mean that I can get a great tone but don’t have to resort to using a bland PA-style speaker to handle the baritone’s extra output.
I pair the custom made Ivan Richards (Australia) ‘Marshall Major’ KT88 amp with a ‘Hiwatt’ style KT88 amp – powering Weber Thames speakers – the combination is glorious!
