I bought one of these alnico as I had never tried one before so got the least expensive. Got it in a few days and loaded it into a cab and started playing with the Laney cub head. Didn’t really care for it. I knew it probably needed to be broken in, so I struggled and played on. After a few hours, it started sounding better. As luck would have it, I then bought a all original Fender Princeton II with the original speaker which sounded very sad. Plugged in the 12s, it started sounding even better. Loaded the speaker into the amp, as well as moved the reverb tank, that had been installed at Fender in Cali on the side of the amp, and moved it to the bottom where it should be. Long story short, it sounds amazing!

Have this in a 1×12 cab. Use it with an SCX2 and a Monoprice 611815 (15w/3×2 tube) and have used with several other amps. Guitars = P90 Mustang, Duosonic HS and Jaguar. Have 5 other speakers but never use them. For Fender tweed’ish this is my favorite speaker by far.
